Kilian Ochs - German champion in Judo 2016 & 2018

Kilian (19) started his career as a Judoka at the age of six in his home town of Dahme / Mark. Coach Andre Hoffmann during this time created a very good basis for a sporting future of the boy. His talent, his ambition and his sporting success led him to the position of a reigning regional champion at the sport school in Potsdam, where he was trained by, among others, the Olympian youngster Yvonne Bönisch. Kilian then became a number of North-East German champions. In 2015 he entered the German Championship u18 for the first time and finished fifth. Thanks to this performance, the Bundestrainer drew attention to him and called the then 15-year-old into the national squad. Kilian has been an integral part of the national team since 2014 through the victory of several rank list tournaments.
In 2016 Kilian had his breakthrough
First he won the German championship and then won the Bremen Masters, one of the highest-ranking international tournaments in Judosport. Due to these successes he was nominated by the DJB for the European Championship in Finland. There, Kilian finished 9th.
His successes continued
At the end of 2016 Kilian won silver at the Men's Rangers' Tournament in Speyer and reached the qualification for the German Men's Championship, where he won one of the youngest athletes in Duisburg on January 21, 2017 in sensational bronze. His success continued in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, Kilian won bronze at the European Cup U21 Kaunas and qualified himself for the participation at the World’s Championship and the European Championship. With the German Junior Team he won bronze at the World Mixed Teams in 2017. His hard work and his discipline have let him to even higher achievements in 2018. He once again won the German Championship in Judo by winning gold at the European Cup U21 in Kaunas. He took home the bronce medal from IT in Georgia and qualified himself for his participation at this year’s World Championship and the European Championship.
If Kilian is not on the road, he will fight for the UJKC Potsdam regularly in the Bundesliga. Kilian sets himself high but achievable goals. He would like to fight for the front rankings at the national level of the German championship u21 and prove himself internationally at the European Cups. Kilian's great dream is participation at Olympia.
