Important information about installing the client software
The client software can be installed on a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows-based PCs (Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, Server 2012 R2).
There are no special hardware requirements.
The software can also be installed in virtual environments with these operating systems.
What is the client software doing on your network?
The client routinely queries the printing systems in your network for information such as printer count readings, toner levels, error status, etc., and provides this collected information to printer4you.com for further evaluation.
The software installs an MS-Access compatible database. However, the use of Microsoft SQL Server Express or Microsoft SQL Server is recommended for use with larger amounts of data.
Data transfer from the client to printer4you.com takes place every hour between 7:00am and 12:00am.
Network access via SNMP protocol to the monitoring systems must be possible from the PC or the virtual environment on which the client software was installed. In addition, there must be the possibility to set up a TCP / IP based XML-RPC connection to printer4you.com
Open the corresponding ports in local firewalls:
For SNMP querying the print systems: Port 161 (UDP)
For TCP / IP XML-RPC communication to printer4you.com: Port 52004 (TCP)
For local communication between the client and its web-based configuration interface: 52005 (TCP)
The transferred data packets are transmitted encrypted.
